⚠️ UPDATE: Rescue & Response

• Multiple rescue missions are underway, including swift-water rescues in neighborhoods like Gavilan Trailer Park. A father and two children were among those swept away by floodwaters.

• Emergency services, village officials, and NWS are coordinating efforts.

• Local shelters are available at:
• Ruidoso Community Center (501 Sudderth).
• ENMU‑Ruidoso campus.
• Angus Church of the Nazarene.
• Roads closed include White Mountain (Hull–Mechem), Sudderth at multiple intersections, Paradise Canyon, Country Club Rd, Cedar Creek, Hull Rd, Eagle Drive, and many more.

A life-threatening Flash Flood Emergency has been declared in Ruidoso, NM, as water rips through neighborhoods near the South Fork Fire burn scar. Homes and roads have been swept away, with rescue operations underway. Officials warn the situation is rapidly evolving with more rainfall expected.
