The US State Department has issued a global warning to diplomats after discovering AI-driven attempts to impersonate Secretary of State Marco Rubio. A July 3 cable revealed that a fake Rubio tried contacting multiple foreign ministers, a senator, and a governor via text, Signal, and voicemail. While the recipients remain unnamed, officials confirmed the threat and pledged stronger cybersecurity. Spokeswoman Tammy Bruce says the department is actively monitoring and addressing the issue.
