Weighted in the Balance: America Under Judgment? (Live Service 2025 July 7)

Recent events would make it easy to think that America is on the verge of judgment. But what if the U.S has been under judgment for the past 24 years, and few have seen it? What about all of the peace and prosperity preachers and so-called prophets, with their bold declarations of revival and blessing for the Church? Could it be that judgment is the first step in God bringing fulfillment to the prophecies, and perhaps the prophets have completely missed it? Could it be that the peace and prosperity hoped for by many American pastors must first come through hard times?

This week, we will look at the past 24 years with the three keys to understanding God's judgment: economic hardship, natural disasters, and military defeats. We will discuss how Israel and Judah each had righteous and wicked rulers. Wicked rulers made God's judgment more severe, but the righteous rulers bought the people a little more time. As we continue to see ministry leaders and Christian artists exposed for habitual sin, even complete collapse of ministries and churches, perhaps judgment has indeed begun in the House of God (1 Pet.
). What does this mean to you and me? How should we prepare for these things to increase in frequency and intensity as America finds herself weighted in the balance and wanting?
