Isca the Unbeaten hails from the ancient mutant island of Okkara, home to some of the first Homo sapiens mutants. Long before recorded history, she lived among Okkara’s original clans, destined to become one of its greatest warriors. As the younger sister of Genesis, Isca spent her childhood racing along Okkara’s shorelines and sparring with cousins. Even as a little girl, she could never be outdone: her mutant gift, the inability to lose, manifested early, turning every game into a one-woman triumph. When her sister married Apocalypse, Isca commemorated the birth of Genesis’s children by forging the Scarab: a mighty four-part sword that became the Genesis line’s emblem. This act cemented her place in her family’s legend and showcased her unparalleled craftsmanship and power projection. Peace shattered when the Amenthi Daemons rose from beneath the island, tearing Okkara apart. Isca led the mutant defense, her victories mounting with each clash. But as the tide turned, her mutation compelled her to defect, she could not abide being on the losing side, betraying her people by joining the demon host to secure her own unbroken record. For over a millennium, Isca fought under the Amenth banner, her loyalty dictated by victory alone. The doomed half of Okkara was sealed away and renamed Arakko, where she continued as a feared enforcer, her name whispered in fear and awe by both mutant and demon alike. Centuries later, she resurfaces in the X-Men saga when Jonathan Hickman and Pepe Larraz introduced her in X-Men Vol. 5 #12 (September 2020). There, her origin, betrayal born of invincible power, reshapes the stakes for every hero who crosses her path.
