USS Carl Vinson Departs Pearl Harbor for RIMPAC 2024 Force Integration

JOINT BASE PEARL HARBOR-HICKAM, HAWAII – July 8, 2024

The Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70) sets sail from Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam to commence the Force Integration phase of Exercise Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC) 2024. Alongside multinational naval forces including the Republic of Korea’s ROKS Chungmugong Yi Sun-sin, Carl Vinson leads maritime operations that strengthen warfighting interoperability and readiness.

RIMPAC 2024 involves 29 nations, 40 surface ships, 3 submarines, 14 land forces, over 150 aircraft, and 25,000 personnel—uniting allies across the Pacific to secure critical sea lanes and maintain global maritime stability.
