MISSING GRANDPA FOUND: 59-year-old Don Hightower Found 1 Year After Disappearance (Solved)

The disappearance of Don Hightower has been resolved after significant efforts by law enforcement. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation and the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office sought public assistance in locating the 59-year-old man who went missing on October 30, 2021, after leaving his sister’s home in Wrightsville, GA.

Hightower was last seen driving a gold 2003 Toyota Camry, wearing red sweatpants and a red UGA sweatshirt. He had a medical condition that may have caused confusion and difficulty in communication.

A hunter discovered Hightower's car off Highway 319, which led deputies to conduct a search that resulted in the recovery of his remains. The family expressed their grief in a statement, indicating that evidence suggests Don likely suffered a medical emergency that night. The remains have been sent for identification.
