Are we really free?

I know it’s Independence Day but, does that mean we are really free?

To give some context:

it’s one that goes deeper than fireworks and cookouts.

🇺🇸 "What Does the 4th of July Really Mean?"
On the surface, the Fourth of July is Independence Day —The day in 1776 when the United States declared its independence from British rule by adopting the Declaration of Independence.
It’s a celebration of freedom —Of breaking away from tyranny,Of founding a nation built on the idea that “all men are created equal.”
But here’s the deeper truth:

🔎 It’s Complicated.
For some, it’s a symbol of pride, patriotism, and sacrifice. For others, especially people of color, it can also be a reminder that freedom wasn’t granted to everyone in 1776.
Enslaved people were not free.Native peoples were being displaced.Women had no voice in government.
So while it marked a new beginning,it was also the beginning of a long, unfinished journey toward true equality and justice.

🌱 Today, the 4th of July can mean:
* Honoring those who fought and still fight for liberty.
* Reflecting on the real meaning of freedom — not just national, but personal and spiritual.

* It leaves us Asking this question: Who still isn’t free? And how can we be part of that liberation?
