Godzilla x Kong: Supernova | The Trailer (2027)

The title of the newest chapter in the Legendary Monsterverse, Godzilla X Kong: Supernova, may subtly hint at a significant change to the face of Godzilla and Kong's world in the form of a major death. While there hasn't been any explanation of the title with the movie still two years away from its release date, the title reveal along with some teaser footage has spawned plenty of theories about the movie's plot. As the title of Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire acted as a hint about the movie's villain and story, Monsterverse fans believe Supernova does the same.

Godzilla and Kong have now teamed up twice to take on potentially world-ending threats, and Godzilla X Kong: Supernova's title points to another begrudging collaboration for the sake of the planet they guard. However, with the threats ramping up over the progression of the Monsterverse, the next villain to challenge Godzilla and Kong could prove to be too much for them to stop on their own. If that's the case, then Godzilla X Kong: Supernova could truly ratchet up the stakes by including a major monster death that proves just how powerful the new threat is.
