Pages of Yesterday

I opened a drawer and found your note,
A tiny truth in words you wrote.
The ink had faded, the paper torn,
But the feeling stayed like it was born.

Your jacket still hangs on the chair,
I catch your scent like you're still there.
The clock moves on, the world spins fast,
But you’re the moment that always lasts.

You're in the pages of yesterday,
In all the things we didn’t say.
A soft goodbye, a silent stay—
You never really walked away.
Though time has brushed your face with grey,
You shine in the pages of yesterday.

I see you in the morning light,
The way you’d smile, the way you’d fight.
The songs we played, the roads we knew,
Every path still leads to you.

I don’t chase the past, but still it finds
A way to dance inside my mind.
And though the tears may fall sometimes,
They bloom like stars from better times.

You're in the pages of yesterday,
Not lost, not gone, just tucked away.
A photograph the soul can see,
A part of who I’ll always be.
You never left, you chose to stay—
Here in the pages of yesterday.

Yes, here in the pages…
Of yesterday.
