REPENT!
Matthew 4:17 “From that time Jesus began to preach, saying, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”
You might not think of this as being a new command but we see that it was “From that time [that] Jesus began to preach, saying, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” From what time exactly did Matthew mean in his gospel? It was from the time that “Jesus began to preach” or began His earthly ministry. This is the only command that I could find that is directed to those who are not yet saved. Jesus says to “repent” in an imperative statement or as a direct command. He never gives the idea that this is an option. The kingdom being at hand means that if it is at hand, it is within reach or within an arm’s length so the kingdom’s being at hand is made so with the appearance of the King of that kingdom, and that is Jesus Christ.
Put on the full armour of God, That is Jesus Christ.
Psalms 118:8: “It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man.”
When you accept Jesus as your saviour you will be redeemed in the eyes of God.
You will receive the Holy Spirit which will give you wisdom and discernment.
Are you washed in the blood of the lamb?
Some scripture about christs blood and what he did for us sinners (everyone in the world);
John 3:16 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
1 Corinthians 15:1-4 15 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
“In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins.” —Colossians 1:14
Hebrews 9:24-26, “For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us: Nor yet that he should offer himself often, as the high priest entereth into the holy place every year with blood of others; For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now ONCE in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.”
“Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.” —1st Peter 1:18-19
Leviticus 17:11, “For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul.
Hebrews 9:12 concerning Jesus, “Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.”
Romans 3:25 states, “Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through FAITH IN HIS BLOOD, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God.”
Ephesians 1:7 7 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;
Ephesians 2:13 “But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.”
What a wonderful Savior! Jesus paid a debt of sin that He did not owe, because we owed a debt of sin that we could not pay. Our sins had to be paid for with Jesus' blood. Jesus died on the cross, was buried to confirm His death, and then rose miraculously three days later for our sins. Christ is alive! Thank the Lord for His mercy, for paying for our many sins with His precious blood. So, the question is are you washed in the blood of the lamb the savior Jesus? Have you come to Jesus for salvation?
Jesus' Challenge
Jesus presented a clear challenge with his words at Caesarea Philippi: He didn't want his followers hiding from evil: He wanted them to storm the gates of hell.
