The 16th letter of the Hebrew alphabet. Symbol the eye. Represents - well the eye, a spring (as in water, springs come up from underground, or below).

Interesting how we have gone through a series of waters in (mostly? possibly?) sequence-
open and closed mem represent open and closed - or calm and chaotic waters
nun - the fish, only the "land shark" stands out of place (candygram mamm)
samech- well....it could be COMPLETELY seperate but I think it looks very much like a (the letter that is) vessel or wineskin able to carry liquid and pouring out, but THAT is just my observation.
And now - ayin, and eye, spring which is waters originating from below the surface (of the face or of the earth?)
