Gameplay Part 1

Experience survival horror like never before in the 8th major installment in the Resident Evil franchise - Resident Evil Village. With detailed graphics, intense first-person action and masterful storytelling, the terror has never felt more realistic.

Set a few years after the horrifying events in the critically acclaimed Resident Evil 7 Biohazard, the all-new storyline begins with Ethan Winters and his wife Mia living peacefully in a new location, free from their past nightmares. Just as they are building their new life together, tragedy befalls them once again.

In this playthrough we cover:

Prologue – The Winters House:
Ethan Winters is living a quiet, seemingly peaceful life in Europe with his wife Mia and their infant daughter, Rose. The family has relocated following the events in Louisiana three years prior. However, the tranquility is shattered when Chris Redfield and a team of soldiers burst into the house one night. Without explanation, Chris fatally shoots Mia and kidnaps Rose, knocking Ethan unconscious. He later awakens alone in a wrecked transport vehicle in the snowy woods. Disoriented and desperate, Ethan stumbles through the dark forest toward a faint glimmer of civilization—unknowingly stepping into a new nightmare.

The Village (Arrival):
Ethan emerges into a remote, desolate village nestled in the mountains. The place is eerily quiet, with signs of recent violence and ruin—doors broken in, animal carcasses left out, and blood trails leading to nowhere. Soon, Ethan encounters a terrifying breed of enemies: lycanthropic creatures who hunt him through the narrow alleys and crumbling homes. After a desperate standoff and a brief encounter with a mysterious old woman who speaks in cryptic prophecy, Ethan finds a handful of survivors taking refuge in a home. However, the reunion quickly turns tragic, with most of the villagers killed in a lycan assault. With the help of a dying woman named Elena, Ethan briefly escapes before the house collapses. Alone again, he presses forward and enters the village chapel, where strange symbols hint at the presence of four ruling houses—and a woman named Mother Miranda. A towering castle looms in the distance, and Ethan resolves to enter it, believing Rose may be inside.

Castle Dimitrescu (Part 1):
Ethan infiltrates Castle Dimitrescu, a lavish and ominous estate ruled by Lady Alcina Dimitrescu and her three sadistic daughters—Bela, Cassandra, and Daniela. Upon arrival, he meets The Duke, a mysterious merchant who offers resources and insight, before being ambushed and dragged to the castle’s depths. There, the daughters toy with Ethan, and Lady Dimitrescu herself sizes him up like prey before chaining him to the ceiling in a dungeon.

Escaping by tearing a spike from his hand, Ethan begins navigating the bloodstained prison. He finds his way to the castle’s ornate halls, solving puzzles and unlocking doors with items like the Maroon Eye Ring. As he explores, one of the daughters confronts him in a narrow hallway. Their fight is intense—she’s immune to bullets and stalks him relentlessly. But Ethan realizes her weakness: the cold air. Luring her into a room where the outside frost seeps in through broken windows, he gains the upper hand. Using a combination of well-aimed gunfire and environmental advantage, Ethan shatters her body into dust—defeating the first of Lady Dimitrescu’s daughters.

Pushing forward, Ethan descends into the castle’s grotesque blood-draining chamber, unlocking a valve to empty the deep crimson basin. After crawling through a secret tunnel and climbing upward, he emerges onto a balcony overlooking the grand hall. Here, he finds a safe room, granting him a brief moment of peace. But with two daughters and the towering Lady Dimitrescu still hunting him, the nightmare within the castle is far from over.
