Memory Lane

I took a walk down memory lane,
The sky was soft, it looked the same.
The trees still whispered like they knew,
That once, this road belonged to two.

Your name carved in the wooden rail,
The stories that we used to tell.
The wind still hums our favorite tune,
A love that lived beneath the moon.

Down memory lane, I see your face,
In every shadow, every place.
You’re the echo in the breeze,
The hush between the autumn leaves.
Though you’ve gone your separate way,
You walk with me…
Every day.

I still remember how you’d smile,
Like nothing ever hurt a while.
Now I just smile through the ache,
For every dream we didn’t make.

Some moments fade, but some remain,
Like raindrops on a windowpane.
And I still trace them, line by line,
Each one a piece of you and mine.

Down memory lane, we laugh, we cry,
We never had to say goodbye.
You live in every silent song,
In every place where I belong.
Though time can wash the steps away…
Your memory’s here,
And it will stay.

I walk alone, but not in vain—
You're waiting still…
On memory lane.
