Set against the fog-laced streets and colonial alleyways of Portsmouth, New Hampshire, Grimm: Shadows Over Portsmouth is a Monster of the Week campaign inspired by the dark urban fantasy world of the Grimm TV show. Wesen lurk behind ordinary faces, secrets sleep beneath the cobbled wharves, and ancient bloodlines awaken.

In this Session 0, the cast and Keeper come together to build the story’s foundation:

We create our Hunters — from hardened professionals to reluctant heirs of a grim legacy.

We define the group’s shared history, their connection to the supernatural, and the hidden battles that shaped them.

We discuss safety tools, tone, expectations, and build a living version of Portsmouth that blends local lore with Wesen legends.

And finally, we hint at the encroaching darkness... something has begun to stir in the shadows of the Piscataqua River.
