Genesis 46, episode 93
Hi, I’m Sal Lopez Executive Director of Ozark Hunger Relief, I am doing this to hopefully find some sponsors (tax deductible donations) for an office in Prairie Grove, Ar. I have seen and fed many children who wander around here. I thought if I started a non-profit, the community would be happy to help. Nope! I’ve had nothing but suspicion, derision, denial, and was eventually ripped off for everything I had, by another food pantry. They offered to let me work with their food pantry, then when I delivered everything I had, they told me to they couldn’t let me in their office, but subsequently asked me for more of my money. It has been horribly depressing, but I will persevere and get this office open.
My vision is to be a community resource center, but the main goal is to feed hungry kids, whose parents are drug addicts, and/or alcoholics. I guess some are just poor. Anyway, I need help and will advertise for you, and have signs of acknowledgement for every donor, proportionate for the donation.
Remember to try to stay positive, you can choose your state of mind, so I offer this advice: Philippians 4:8
“Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.”
Anyway, this episode is on Genesis 46.
“God Goes Before You” Genesis 46:3–4 – “I am God, the God of your father,” He said. “Do not be afraid to go down to Egypt, for I will make you into a great nation there. I will go down to Egypt with you, and I will surely bring you back again.”
Hello, everybody! I’m so glad you’re here today. I believe this message is going to encourage you and remind you that even when life takes unexpected turns, God is already there.
Have you ever felt like you were stepping into the unknown? Like you were leaving something familiar behind, and you weren’t sure what was waiting on the other side? That’s exactly where Jacob was in Genesis 46.
Jacob had just learned that his son Joseph—who he thought was dead—is alive and thriving in Egypt. Now Joseph is inviting Jacob to come live with him. But this isn’t just a family reunion—this is a major life change.
Jacob is old. He’s lived in Canaan his whole life. Egypt is foreign, unfamiliar, and uncertain. But in the middle of his fear, God speaks:
> “Do not be afraid to go down to Egypt… I will go with you.”
Friend, that’s not just a word for Jacob—that’s a word for you. God is saying, “Don’t be afraid of the transition. Don’t be afraid of the unknown. I’m already there.”
Trusting God in Transition
Maybe you’re in a season of transition right now. Maybe you’re starting something new, stepping into unfamiliar territory, or leaving behind what’s comfortable.
t’s easy to feel anxious. It’s easy to wonder, “God, are You sure about this?” But just like with Jacob, God is going before you. He’s preparing the way.
That new job? God’s already there.
That move to a new city? God’s already there.
That new chapter in your life? God’s already there.
You’re not going alone. You’re not stepping into the unknown—you’re stepping into the already prepared.
God’s Promise Still Stands
God didn’t just tell Jacob to go—He gave him a promise:
“I will make you into a great nation there.”
In other words, “I’m not just going to be with you—I’m going to bless you there.”
Sometimes the blessing isn’t where you’ve been—it’s where you’re going. Sometimes God has to move you to grow you. He has to shift you to shape you.
Don’t resist the change. Don’t fear the Egypt. God is going to do something great in the place you least expect.
Speak Life Over Your Future
Let me declare this over you today: You are not walking into the unknown—you are walking into your destiny. God is going before you. He’s making crooked places straight. He’s opening doors no one can shut.
You’re not going to just survive the transition—you’re going to thrive in it. You’re not going to lose in Egypt—you’re going to grow in Egypt. Because the same God who called you is the same God who will carry you.

Hello, everybody! I’m so glad you’ve joined me today. I believe this message is going to encourage you, lift your faith, and remind you that no matter what you’ve been through—your dream is still alive.
You may have faced some setbacks. Maybe life hasn’t turned out the way you thought. But I want to tell you today: God hasn’t forgotten what He promised you. The dream He placed in your heart is still on schedule.
Joseph the Dreamer
Joseph was just 17 years old when God gave him a dream. He saw himself in a position of influence, leading others. But instead of rising up, he was thrown down.
His brothers were jealous and threw him into a pit.
He was sold into slavery.
He was falsely accused and thrown into prison.
It looked like the dream was over. But what Joseph didn’t realize was that every setback was a setup. Every delay was part of God’s divine plan.
Genesis 50:20 – “You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good.”
God Uses Detours
Maybe you’re in a pit right now. Maybe you’ve been betrayed, overlooked, or mistreated. But like Joseph, you have to remember: God is still in control. The pit is not your final destination. The prison is not the end of your story. The palace is still in your future.
God uses detours to develop us. He uses delays to prepare us. And He uses disappointments to position us.
Stay Faithful in the Process
Joseph didn’t get bitter. He didn’t give up. He kept honoring God, even when it didn’t make sense. And in due time, God elevated him.
Genesis 41:41 – “Pharaoh said to Joseph, ‘I hereby put you in charge of the whole land of Egypt.’”
One moment, Joseph was in prison. The next, he was in the palace. That’s how quickly God can turn things around.
Friend, you may be one phone call, one opportunity, one divine connection away from your breakthrough. Keep being faithful. Keep believing. Keep dreaming.
Speak Life Over Your Future
Let me declare this over you today: Your dream is not dead—it’s just in development. What was meant to stop you is going to launch you. What was meant to break you is going to bless you.
You’re not going to stay where you are. You’re going to rise higher, shine brighter, and walk into the destiny God has prepared for you.
