Protesters gathered on both sides of the U.S.-Canada border in Detroit, Michigan and Windsor, Ontario today for an “Elbows Up” demonstration, held in part as a protest against U.S.-imposed tariffs and as a showing of friendship between the two countries amidst changes in U.S. policy and rhetoric under the second Trump administration

Demonstrators gathered in the U.S. at Hart Plaza in Detroit, and in Canada by the Great Canadian Flag in Windsor, both located along the Detroit River

Some signs at the protest in Detroit read “Hey Look! There’s A Functioning Democracy Across The River!”, “The Power Of The People Is Greater Than The People In Power”, and “None Of This Is Normal!”
