Echoes of Us

I passed the café down the lane,
Where we once danced in summer rain.
Your laughter still hangs in the air,
Though I turn around… you're never there.

Your sweater’s folded, safe and still,
It rests beside the windowsill.
The scent is gone, but not the grace,
Of how you lit this empty space.

You're the echo in my soul,
The part of me that still feels whole.
In every step, in every hush,
I hear the echoes of us.
Though you're a name the world forgot,
To me, you’re every beating thought.
Not a ghost, not just dust—
You're the echo…
The echo of us.

The photographs have curled with age,
But you still smile on every page.
Frozen in a world so far,
Yet close as breath and midnight stars.

Time has never closed the door,
You're in my now, my evermore.
And when I breathe, I swear I feel
A love that’s gone… but still so real.

You're the echo in my soul,
The song that makes the silence whole.
No matter where this life will rush,
I’ll always hear the echo of us.
You’re not gone, just out of touch—
Still with me…
In the echo of us.
