Day 186: The Beginning of Wisdom — Proverbs 1–3 | Bible In A Year (CSB)

As we begin the Book of Proverbs, we’re introduced to the foundational call to pursue wisdom grounded in the fear of the Lord. These opening chapters contrast the voice of wisdom with the allure of folly, urging us to trust in the Lord with all our hearts and to seek His ways above our own. This is more than good advice—it's a call to live in alignment with God’s design.

Questions:
1. Proverbs 1:7 says, “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge.” What does it look like to fear the Lord in a way that leads to wisdom, not fearfulness?

2. Proverbs 3:5–6 urges us to trust in the Lord rather than leaning on our own understanding. What are some practical ways we can live this out, especially when His ways don’t make immediate sense?

3. Proverbs often personifies wisdom as calling out to us. How can we train our hearts to recognize and respond to wisdom in a world full of competing voices?
