Apatros Review Ep-0168: Scarecrow [2002]

AR-0168: Before they started their run of infamous mockbusters, those lunatics at The Asylum were building up experience by making low budget genre schlock, such as this rare entry in the "scarecrowsploitation" subgenre, which proved of sufficient interest to The Asylum that they made two sequels to it.

The plot is basic - poor good-hearted white trash kid gets offed by his promiscuous mother's nasty boyfriend, only to come back as an undead scarecrow to seek revenge...

Tell you what, those old scarecrow movies of the 20th Century were better than this, although this particular one does have a base function in horror movie morality going for it and some of the kills are kinda hilariously cheesy.

My Grade: D+ [Disappointing]
