The Tarot Part 1 - the Microcosmic Arcana, the Kabbalah, and Consciousness

The tradition of tarot or the Book of Life is based on 78 cards in two sets: 22 cards of the major and 56 cards of the minor arcana. This explores the Tarot deck and how it relates to the Kabbala, the tree of life. The Rider Waite tarot deck is the most widely accepted deck of Tarot cards.
The tarot’s major arcana fit onto the tree of life as 11 cards of the macrocosmic and 11 of the microcosmic trees. The major arcana is a higher realm of knowledge of the soul and the universe. The minor arcana is the lower knowledge of realms of personality. These are the decks in power that correlate to the playing card decks.

The Kabbalah and Tarot can be used for good or evil; it depends on the person’s consciousness. We must understand the occult more maturely and take it into a realm where it becomes prevalent and distributed. Distributed information is the only way to lead to anything in our world resembling true freedom. When the occult is no longer hidden when it is no longer the occult anymore, it becomes common sense.
The Kabbalah and Tarot are the oldest and most sacred traditions regarding self-knowledge and the forces at work within the individual unit of consciousness, the soul. Some occult philosophers have called this the monad or the individual unit of self-awareness of consciousness and how that relates to the forces at work in nature in the macrocosmic realm of the universe. The Tarot is more than a deck of cards; it is a book of symbols telling us the story of our consciousness.

The Tarot has been referred to as the Book of Life and Truth. The imagery of the cards is rich and detailed. Although you can make a lifetime study of the tarot, this is just an introductory primer for the student who wants to look further into this and will take it seriously and go deeper. This is a tradition that teaches about the self.
Arcana is a Latin word meaning higher knowledge. All these trump cards represent the connection between the soul and the universe; this is the correspondence or hermetic principle of “as above, so below”. That which is taking place at an individual level is reflected outwardly into society as a whole. What our society becomes depends on how people use their consciousness.
