Barabanki Tragedy: 12-Year-Old Dies of Suspected Silent Heart Attack at School Gate

Barabanki, UP — A 12-year-old student, Akhil Pratap Singh, collapsed and died at the gate of St. Anthony School in Gheri Bishunpur village on the first day after summer vacation. He reportedly felt dizzy while walking with his father and fell unconscious, dying on the spot.

Doctors suspect a silent heart attack — a rare but rising condition in children — as the cause. Silent heart attacks often occur without clear symptoms and can be triggered by congenital or genetic factors, obesity, stress, or other health conditions.

The incident has left the village and school community in mourning and raised concerns about monitoring children’s health more closely.
