Deadly police-involved crash on I-95 in Baltimore

On Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at approximately 2:18 a.m., a Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA) officer encountered an Infiniti sedan while traveling northbound on I-95. The officer followed the Infiniti as it exited I-95 at exit 55, Key Highway. Shortly after, the officer activated his emergency equipment and attempted a traffic stop. The driver failed to stop. Both vehicles turned westbound onto E. McComas Street where the Infiniti fled from the officer at a high rate of speed. The driver of the Infiniti lost control, left the road, and collided with a support pillar beneath I-95. The officer rendered medical aid until emergency medical services arrived. The driver and passenger of the Infiniti were pronounced dead on scene. No officers were injured.

The decedents have been identified as 20-year-old Gabriel Castillo of Hyattsville, Maryland and 22-year-old Ezequiel Eduardo Garcia-Chicas, also of Hyattsville.
