If you would like to learn how to swim but you aren’t sure where to start, this video is for you.

Most swimming tutorials speak to those who already feel comfortable in the water. Or even skip this part altogether and proceed to teaching swimming strokes from day 1.

That in turn, discourages beginner learners and non-swimmers, because in order to learn swimming, you have to feel safe and enjoy being in the water. You need to teach that part of the brain responsible for panic, that you will be ok no matter what.

You can do this by learning and practicing proper breathing technique. This one simple skill, will unlock the ability to submerge your body underwater and move around the swimming pool with ease.

This simple, yet effective exercise, will open up your mind to the idea that you can in fact, learn to swim. You just need more freedom to move around and experiment.

From there, you can start looking into learning how to float, do streamline or even try swimming breaststroke or freestyle.
