Hadrian’s Library - A Tour of the Archaeological Site in Athens

Join award-winning author and historian, Adam Alexander Haviaras, on a short tour of the archaeological site of Hadrian’s Library in Athens, Greece.

This magnificent library and centre of learning was erected on Emperor Hadrian’s third visit to Athens in the year A.D. 132.

In addition to the bibliostasion (the library), it also had reading rooms, lecture halls, and study rooms that opened onto a vast, colonnaded garden with a large decorative pool in the middle.

This building was definitely one of the glories of Roman Athens!
