Welcome to Adventure #5!

We climb from the Old Highway 91 to the top of West Mountain Peak—where the views, towers, and trails do not disappoint.

We start from Old Highway 91 and head northwest onto Hell Hole Pass Road. From there, we climb steeply to the summit of West Mountain Peak at 7,688 feet—home to several communication towers and wide-open views across Utah, Arizona, and Nevada. On the way down, we take a different route—backtracking part of the way before turning west. We cross a small creek and follow Lytle Ranch Road, which loops us east and back out to Old 91.
Terrain: 3/10 going up, 5/10 on descent. Rocky, loose surfaces with tight switchbacks and cedar-covered hillsides. Weather: Late April, sunny, mid-60s

Highlights:
📍 Shivwits Reservation trail start
🚙 Jeep climb to 7,688 ft
📶 Cell towers + full bars
🐄 Cow standoff
🌄 Creek crossing + shaded descent
