Resident Evil 7: Part 5

I wish I hadn't seen this before I played it because the shock value would have been great. At least right at the start this game lets you know what you're in for. Much in the same way that games add fan service for the sake of fan service, this game at first glance has gore for the sake of gore. However, I will say that it's clear that the writers do utilize this gore to set up story beats. The first aid juice isn't just antiseptic liquid. Ethan walking around without a hand that's not bleeding is unbelievable until you witness your hand being reattached, and that one cutscene later where a character reattaches his leg with the juice.

Anyway, my point is, without explicitly saying it, this has Umbrella written all over it. They finally created a serum that doesn't turn you into a zombie... it just makes you go crazy violent like that movie...The Crazies.
