Dying from Consumption Mid-way but Unifying All of Sardinia

In this Crusader Kings 3 play through my character who ends up getting consumption halfway in unifies all Sardinia under one rule. Borrowing money from a holy order, i manage to buy a duchy, but die a few months later from consumption at 54, having succeeded in a century long conquest. My grandson is inbred by the way.
