Quad Condemns Pahalgam Terror Attack,Jaishankar Backs India's Right to Defend Against Terrorism|N18G

India's S Jaishankar raised the country’s counterterrorism efforts during the Quad meeting at the US State Department, Washington. Jaishankar referred to Operation Sindoor, citing India’s response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack. Jaishankar called the Pahalgam attack “an act of economic warfare”. The Indian external affairs minister called for zero tolerance against terrorism. Calling out Pakistan, Jaishankar said, "There will be no impunity for terrorists, that we will not deal with them any longer as proxies and spare the government which supports and finances and, in many ways, motivates them." Jaishankar denied Trump’s claim of brokering a truce between India and Pakistan. The US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Australia’s Penny Wong and Japan’s Takeshi Iway also attend the Quad meeting. Jaishankar held bilateral meetings with Rubio, US Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth, Takeshi Iwaya and Penny Wong on the sidelines of the Quad meeting.
