Enkidu from The Epic of Gilgamesh

Enkidu is a central figure in the Epic of Gilgamesh, a legendary hero and Gilgamesh's companion. Initially depicted as a wild man living among animals, Enkidu is created by the gods to be Gilgamesh's equal and challenge his rule over Uruk. Their initial conflict leads to friendship and a series of heroic adventures. Ultimately, Enkidu's death prompts Gilgamesh's quest for immortality.
