Usually get my first topwater fish on a popper ; but this year it was the Plopper 75 in Black Loon. Topwater fishing is an art just like flipping is ; so gear is very important. Testing out a jig skipping/ frogging rod cuz 75's are heavy baits. Also never hurts to stay in the 30lb to 50lb braid range , depending on your cover, size fish , etc. Enjoy!
