The Great Cat Selfie Disaster

The afternoon sun, warm and buttery, streamed through the bedroom window, painting a golden rectangle across the plush duvet. Inside that rectangle, a momentous event was unfolding. Three fluffy, contented cats – Mittens, the sleek Siamese; Jasper, the ginger tabby; and little Luna, the calico kitten – were meticulously arranged for a selfie. Mittens, being the most tech-savvy (or at least, the one who could balance the phone best on her nose), held the gleaming smartphone steady with a paw. Jasper, ever the poser, had his head tilted just so, a look of serene self-importance on his whiskered face. Luna, still wobbly on her paws, was nestled between them, her wide eyes reflecting the screen's glow. "Just one more, guys," Mittens purred, her tail twitching with anticipation. "This is going to be purr-fect for our 'Lazy Sunday' post." They held their breath, tiny pink noses twitching, ready for the click. Suddenly, a blur of black and white fur launched itself from the floor. It was mischievous Ziggy, the youngest and most chaotic of the litter. With a triumphant "Mrow!" that sounded suspiciously like a war cry, he landed squarely in the middle of the carefully arranged trio, scattering paws, tails, and the phone in every direction. The phone slid precariously to the edge of the bed, saved only by a lucky snag on the duvet cover. Mittens, who had been mid-pose, let out a hiss that was less feline and more like a deflating balloon. Her ears flattened, and her usually serene blue eyes narrowed to slits. "ZIGGY!" she yowled, a low rumble vibrating in her chest. The little troublemaker, oblivious, was already swatting at Jasper's tail. With a frustrated sigh that ruffled her whiskers, Mittens nudged the phone with her nose, sending it tumbling unceremoniously onto the carpet. "That's it," she declared, turning her attention to pinning down the offending kitten. "No more selfies. Ever.
