Elio Was Supposed to Be Pixar's Queer Event of the Year!

M3GAN 2.0 was a massive flop at the Box Office for multiple reasons. Releasing a sequel horror film at the height of the Summer Movie season is incredibly ill advised, but also another derivative story and a girlboss rip off isn't really hitting any more. Who exactly was clamoring for a Terminator 2 retread with a little doll? Perhaps being a gay icon was more important than turning a profit.

Elio is the biggest bomb Pixar has ever released. According to insiders, it would have been even worse if the original cut made it to the public. The 11 year old boy was supposed to be heavily queer coded and obsessed with fashion; a recipe for success. Even though those themes were massively scaled back, it is still a terrible film. It goes to show that woke isn't the problem in Hollywood, it's a severe lack of talent.
