Jim Shooter, Marvel Editor-in-Chief, Passes Away at 73: Reflecting on His Comic Book Legacy

I'm reflecting on the passing of Jim Shooter, a comic book legend who died at 73. He was Marvel's Editor-in-Chief from 1978 to 1987, overseeing incredible runs like Chris Claremont and John Byrne's Uncanny X-Men, Frank Miller's Daredevil, and the groundbreaking Secret Wars crossover he wrote himself. The man started at DC Comics at just 13, writing for Legion of Super-Heroes and Superman, which is pretty wild stuff. He also co-founded Valiant Comics, creating characters I've got in my collection. I talk about how his drive for excellence shaped Marvel into the company I love, even if some folks didn't get his approach at the time. Links to the articles I mention are below.
