I am proud for my family and I to be a part of this great community in Frederick County. As such, I have a vested interest for me and my family in Frederick County Public Schools. I have five key priorities for Frederick County Public Schools, which are the reasons I am running for the school board.
1. Overcrowding in our schools and Future Growth: We must eliminate students going to school in trailers. We must plan for additions to schools and plan for a future elementary and middle school to be built. I will advocate for full funding for these necessary projects.
2. Career and Technical Education, Special Education and Gifted Programs: Every student should be afforded an equitable journey to success in FCPS. I will advocate for all students to ensure that resources, support systems, and funding are provided to meet the needs of our students.
3. Culture: The time is now to ensure that all teachers, staff, students, and citizens feel valued, heard, and supported by the school board.
4. Staff Retention: I am committed to fight to ensure that adequate funding is available to attract and retain the best teachers and staff to invest in the lives of our students.
5. School Safety: All students deserve to learn in a safe environment. Teachers and staff dedicate their lives to our kids and need to feel safe in their schools. I will fight for initiatives and funding to ensure our schools are safe.
This is a crucial time for Frederick County Public Schools. It's time to put all politics aside and put all students, teachers, staff and citizens first. Lets continue to make a great school system even better.
