"Attachment is the origin, the root of suffering.

Hence it is the cause of suffering." -The 14th Dalai Lama, in the book The World of Tibetan Buddhism.

Here the Dalai Lama is echoing the classic teachings of the Buddha Shakyamuni himself.

Attachment is the root of suffering.

It is the cause of suffering this.

Is very important for us to understand because we don't want to suffer and we want to get out of suffering.

So this relationship of our attachments to things are, which means our expectations, the things we hold on to, the things we strongly desire, all these things, because of their empty nature and because of their impermanence, are indeed.

The root and cause of suffering itself.

So we start by understanding that there is this connection between our attachments and our desires, our hopes, our expectations, and the result, which is suffering.

We start by understanding this.

Then we can work on the process and the spiritual journey of.

Letting go of those attachments, those expectations, those hopes, this is what we call waking up.
