Democrats admit the Inflation Reduction Act didn't work
Text of legislation & final roll call votes https://clerk.house.gov/Votes/2022420 https://www.senate.gov/legislative/LIS/roll_call_votes/vote1172/vote_117_2_00325.htm https://www.congress.gov/bill/117th-congress/house-bill/5376/text/pl https://www.congress.gov/117/plaws/publ169/PLAW-117publ169.pdf
The so-called “Inflation Reduction Act” [*] was passed w/ no Republican votes & much fanfare as the Biden Administration scrambled to nullify the inflation bomb that eventually cost them the House in 2022, as well as the Senate & the White House in 2024.
https://bidenwhitehouse.archives.gov/briefing-room/statements-releases/2024/08/16/fact-sheet-two-years-in-the-inflation-reduction-act-is-lowering-costs-for-millions-of-americans-tackling-the-climate-crisis-and-creating-jobs/ Joe Biden claimed, “Two years ago, President Biden signed the Inflation Reduction Act, with Vice President Harris casting the tie-breaking vote in Congress. The Inflation Reduction Act is a key part of the Biden-Harris Administration’s Investing in America agenda, which has driven the fastest and most equitable recovery on record – creating good-paying jobs, expanding opportunity, and lowering costs in every corner of the country. Already, the Inflation Reduction Act is transforming American lives by finally beating Big Pharma to negotiate lower prescription drug prices, making the largest investment in clean energy and climate action in history, creating hundreds of thousands good-paying jobs, lowering health care and energy costs, and making the tax code fairer. Visit the White House Savings Explorer [NOTE: Broken Link] how Americans are saving money on their annual expenses because of the Inflation Reduction Act and other Biden-Harris Administration actions.”
We find out later that much of this was just the moving around of money from one pocket to another: “Last year, 3.4 million Americans benefited from $8.4 billion in Inflation Reduction Act tax credits to lower the cost of clean energy and energy efficiency upgrades in their homes – significantly outpacing projections of the popularity of the tax credits in just the first year they were available… Since January 2024, more than 250,000 Americans have claimed the IRA’s electric vehicle tax credit, saving these buyers about $1.5 billion total. Nearly all of these buyers claimed the incentive at the point of sale.”
This is just giving Paul a tax credit w/ Peter’s money & no wonder so many entities were “investing” in clean energy, they’re either in on that subsidy-riddled racket or like big banks doing Elizabeth Warren’s bidding – they’re afraid the government is going to come destroy their business if they don’t do what they’re told. That’s why a lot of banks are in on the The Net Zero Banking Alliance, they’re afraid of Leviathan.
Hold a metaphorical gun to someone’s head, there’s a good chance they’ll do what they’re told.
Biden repeated much of the same crap other times while touting the Inflation Reduction Act https://www.reuters.com/business/energy/one-year-biden-still-needs-explain-his-signature-clean-energy-legislation-2023-08-16/ https://bidenwhitehouse.archives.gov/briefing-room/statements-releases/2023/08/16/fact-sheet-one-year-in-president-bidens-inflation-reduction-act-is-driving-historic-climate-action-and-investing-in-america-to-create-good-paying-jobs-and-reduce-costs/ Reuters said the biggest impacts will begin in 2024 & 2025, so it’s only going to get better folks! Again, we’re given a laundry list of envirokook projects to protect us from the anthropogenic climate change/global warming boogeyman & a slew of tax credits, but not much in the way of actually lowering your grocery bill.
Bernie Sanders
https://www.sanders.senate.gov/bernie-buzz/the-good-and-the-bad-of-the-inflation-reduction-act/ went into his usual hysterics, basically calling the bill a turd shrouded in cookie dough, but he still voted for it.
But it doesn’t do enough, it doesn’t institute single-payer health care immediately, it doesn’t expand Medicaid [**] & it doesn’t end carbon emissions once & for all.
Senile Bernie did accidentally debunk Joe Biden while he was flapping his gums about saving seniors all this money: “The good news is that it will allow Medicare to negotiate the outrageously high prices of prescription drugs and lower drug costs. The bad news is that these negotiations won’t go into effect until 2026 and they will begin with only 10 drugs. Further, this bill will cap the out-of-pocket costs seniors pay for prescription drugs at no more than $2,000 a year. That is the good news. The bad news is that this provision won't go into effect until 2025. Under this bill we will continue paying, by far, the highest prices in the world for our medicines for the indefinite future. It is unfortunate that the Senate did not go further in lowering drug prices.”
I guess Joe Biden was lying? Well heck Bernie, why can’t the Senate just wave its magic wand & lower gasoline prices too?
Bernie ends w/ this somber note: “At a time of massive income and wealth inequality, when the people on top are doing phenomenally well while working families are struggling, we should have done much more. The struggle continues.”
I’m sure Mr. Never-Had-A-Job-In-The-Private-Sector will be wringing his hands in one of his 3 homes, maybe his beach home or on a private junket to warn you that evil Republicans might slow the growth of Medicaid spending somewhere near the same zip code as inflation.
https://jeffries.house.gov/improving-lives-for-everyday-americans-through-the-inflation-reduction-act/ https://jeffries.house.gov/2022/08/12/chairman-jeffries-statement-on-house-passage-of-the-inflation-reduction-act/ https://jeffries.house.gov/2022/08/12/rep-jeffries-the-inflation-reduction-act-will-dramatically-improve-the-lives-of-everyday-americans-and-put-people-over-politics/ Hakeem Jeffries seemed much happier than Bernie Sanders, saying: “The Inflation Reduction Act will lower energy costs, confront the climate crisis with the fierce urgency of now and set our planet forward on a sustainable trajectory. Lower healthcare costs by strengthening the Affordable Care Act, as well as reducing the deficit by $300 billion. And giving Medicare the ability to use its bulk price purchasing power to drive down the high cost of lifesaving prescription drugs. It’s a big effing deal. The Inflation Reduction Act is going to dramatically improve the lives of everyday Americans.”
I doubt that deficit reduction is true, especially when I look at the numbers so far. https://www.whitehouse.gov/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/BUDGET-2026-HIST.xlsx (Table 7.1) Even if it were true, there’s a LOOOOOOOOOOONG way to go little man. You’re scraping down Mount Everest w/ a spoon. It’s not going to lower the costs of heating & cooling my home, it just doles out billions of dollars to the green energy racket. It isn’t going to lower my fuel costs because an electric car is not practical for me, period.
As Bernie pointed out, the prescription drug cost savings (if they aren’t illusory) aren’t reality until next year. I guess when Reuters pointed out most Democrats support the law, but don’t know much about it, they were actually being truthful.
When you consider the Democrat base though, these morons will believe anything they’re told, this is why they looted stores, set cars on fire, threw rocks at police & shut down freeways just because illegal aliens w/ felonies were being deported. Useful idiots.
Hakeem wants Medicaid to continue growing at an amazing pace, how on earth will he balance the budget? If he pulls the “tax the rich” card, I debunked that here >>> https://rumble.com/v1mjo9w-tell-your-democrat-friends-take-the-bernie-sanders-tax-hike-challenge.html
Hakeem also says, “The Inflation Reduction Act will lower costs, creates millions of good paying jobs, makes health care more accessible, delivers the most significant action on climate in history and dramatically reduces the debt… Today, House Democrats delivered decisive action that will lower costs and make life better for everyday Americans. The Inflation Reduction Act will lower the skyrocketing price of live-saving prescription drugs, cut energy costs and make health care more affordable and accessible. This legislation represents a bold step toward tackling climate change and saving our planet, consistent with Democrats’ promise to address the climate crisis with the fierce urgency of now.”
I appreciate his ability to be a massive cheerleader, but he’s a moron. What does he want to actually cut from the federal budget so we can start chiseling away at the national debt? Next…

Can someone ask Chuck’s web guru to make his URLs shorter than a pamphlet? Chuck Schumer’s cheerleading for this legislation is the polar opposite of the salty reception Senile Senator Sanders gave it. One would think it was another ObamaCare.
All it did though was move a bunch of taxpayer money around to the Green Slush Fund & Chuck was content w/ that.
Let’s see what the vacuous #AOC Alexandria Occasional-Cortex was saying about this. https://ocasio-cortez.house.gov/media/blog-post/explained-inflation-reduction-act Her first post was very brief & relied upon often incorrect projections about greenhouse gas reductions (they’ll always find something to complain about when the climate disaster is not averted, essentially admitting failure & “we need to spend more.”), as well as what you will be paying for electricity.
If the Green Slush Fund was good at lowering electricity prices, how come California’s are so high? https://web.archive.org/web/20250000000000*/https://www.eia.gov/state/analysis.php?sid=CA https://www.eia.gov/state/rankings/?sid=CA#/series/28 https://www.eia.gov/state/rankings/?sid=CA#/series/31 https://www.eia.gov/electricity/state/california/xls/SEP%20Tables%20for%20CA.xlsx https://www.eia.gov/electricity/state/california/ California also has a lot more tolerable climate than say Iowa or Missouri, where you can have extreme heat in the summer at times & bone-chilling cold in winter.
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is just repeating talking points, but if pushed on it she’d probably say those dang Republicans & “fossil fuel industry Democrats” prevent us from making the necessary investment. We won’t succeed until we have Carbon Zero & crime won’t stop until every single firearm is confiscated, wash, rinse & repeat. No amount of spending will be enough & the “climate crisis” boogeyman https://ocasio-cortez.house.gov/media/press-releases/ocasio-cortez-markey-stansbury-urge-biden-administration-deliver-key-climate https://ocasio-cortez.house.gov/media/press-releases/ocasio-cortez-statement-joining-powerful-house-energy-and-commerce-committee will be ever present.
As I said earlier, the Inflation Reduction Act ought to be called the Green Slush Fund Act & Alexandria Occasional-Cortex confirms that in these posts. https://ocasio-cortez.house.gov/media/press-releases/markey-and-ocasio-cortez-reintroduce-green-new-deal-resolution https://ocasio-cortez.house.gov/media/in-the-news/green-new-deal-implementation-guide https://ocasio-cortez.house.gov/media/blog-post/climate-projects-ny-14 Remember Reuters saying most Democrats didn’t understand it? They didn’t, they’re useful idiots. This wasn’t about inflation, it was about the Green New Deal. And of course, those “clean energy” jobs will be union jobs.
Here's Senator Dick Durbin cheerleading for this, https://www.durbin.senate.gov/newsroom/press-releases/durbin-duckworth-secure-key-illinois-priorities-in-senate-passed-inflation-reduction-act https://www.durbin.senate.gov/newsroom/press-releases/durbin-democrats-are-rebuilding-america-and-rewarding-american-workers basically repeating the same bile we heard from others.
Most people do not want electric cars, even if you make someone else pay for them. However, the Dumocrats will take a sledgehammer & try to pound a square peg into a round hole.
Here’s Senator Amy Klobuchar giving pie-in-the-sky “analysis” on the Inflation Reduction Act, which did squat to reduce our national debt https://www.klobuchar.senate.gov/public/index.cfm/2022/8/klobuchar-statement-on-senate-passage-of-inflation-reduction-act (much less “significantly” – it does nothing to address the programs which are contributing to our debt) & did not really address inflation, but it did fund the Green Machine. https://www.klobuchar.senate.gov/public/index.cfm/2022/8/klobuchar-statement-on-signing-into-law-of-inflation-reduction-act
This lunatic literally wants you out of your gasoline-power vehicle. She wants your home heated by solar panels & wind farms, whether you want it or not, whether it’s practical or not. https://www.klobuchar.senate.gov/public/index.cfm/2024/1/klobuchar-smith-announce-new-federal-funding-to-increase-access-to-biofuels Your fuel mileage plummets on ethanol, but let’s continue locking up millions of acres of land to produce fuel, when it could feed animals that taste good on a bun.
Sen. Elizabeth Warren, aka Bigum Dumbass https://www.warren.senate.gov/newsroom/press-releases/at-hearing-warren-highlights-how-climate-investments-in-inflation-reduction-act-will-bring-down-public-health-and-natural-disaster-costs said the Inflation Reduction Act will bring down health costs & that was total nonsense.
America’s problem is not fossil fuels (because I am comfortable when its 90 degrees or zero), it’s too many burgers, too much alcohol, too much time on the smartphone & a lot of sedentary people. Look at the labor force participation rates for working age people (which I have https://rumble.com/v6qiakw-lyin-brian-tyler-cohen-is-really-worried-about-medicaid-spending.html) since the advent of LBJ’s “Great Society.”
Elizabeth Warren literally thinks humanity would be better off sans fossil fuels. She’s serious! Think about how crazy that is. This is why we need to keep lunatics like her as far away from the levers of power as possible. Remember when Thomas Sowell said, “the Republicans are dumb, the Democrats are dangerous”? It’s true!
If I could live to 90 (which is unlikely for everyone, but go along) in a society that was like the 1920s or live to 80 in a society as we have today (grocery stores everywhere, call phones, personal computers, nice cars, an interstate highway system) I would take the latter, all else being equal.
Someone needs to tell Sen. Warren that those battery-operated vehicles are not emission free, those batteries don’t fall from the sky like manna & unless you are plugging them into a windmill or solar panel to charge, you’re just shifting the fuel from crude oil to natural gas or coal.
In addition, those windmill towers have to be sunk into the ground & require a lot of concrete, which is very carbon intensive. She probably thinks it’s “magic”, she’s that dumb.
Warren also goes on-and-on in numerous posts celebrating battery-operated buses. She’s the crazy great aunt that comes around every Thanksgiving & everybody can’t wait until she leaves.
Okay, that’s enough of that, you get the picture. Now, one of the reasons Trump won was because of Bidenflation, https://www.bls.gov/charts/consumer-price-index/consumer-price-index-by-category-line-chart.htm (go with the chart going back 20 years, especially for “food at home”, it’s an eye-opener https://archive.is/QGKip https://archive.is/SL4jN ) https://datavisualizations.heritage.org/markets-and-finance/the-biden-inflation-tracker/ which was exactly what the so-called “Inflation Reduction Act” was supposed to solve.
I surmise the Democrats knew this wouldn’t solve the problem, but they didn’t care. Just as ObamaCare did nothing but expand the permanent underclass, it didn’t make health care more affordable or effective, it was all about expanding the power of Leviathan.
Republicans capitalized on Biden’s feckless “leadership” & “the price of eggs” was a big deal. It resonated w/ normal people who actually work & don’t wring their hands over Daniel Snyder’s yacht.
The Inflation Reduction Act was a big fail, unless your goal was NOT reducing inflation & instead having a scaled-down version of the Green New Deal. It was all B.S.
As soon as Trump ascended again to the Oval Office, buffered by a 4-year journey into the wilderness due to voter fraud, the Dumbasscrats started screeching about “the price of eggs.”
This is another tacit admission that the Inflation Reduction Act was a big fail. I’ve seen several of Brian Tyler Cohen’s autistics (probably because he was doing this himself, A WEEK into Trump’s second term! https://plus.briantylercohen.com/p/trumps-intentional-avalanche-of-garbage The retard even admits it in the first sentence of his bi-polar diatribe—here’s another example https://www.facebook.com/briantylercohen/posts/new-trump-when-asked-about-high-egg-prices-leave-me-alone/1264062361746445/) screeching like banshees over “the price of eggs” in February, March & April. Hilarious!
So, the Inflation Reduction Act was a big fail, right? MSLSD, not to be outdone was wringing their hands about inflation more in the first month or so of Trump’s Administration than they did in Senile Pedo Joe’s 4 years (although, Biden was a muppet the last 2 years, he’s cooked sausage) occupying the Oval Office. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fWpL0c2LxFY https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O38nkwuMls0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l_nAksneT7I https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h5aB9dLQsMQ https://www.msnbc.com/opinion/msnbc-opinion/grocery-prices-up-donald-trump-rcna192142
I wonder if MSDNC expected Biden to get us back to the pre-plandemic number of private sector jobs within 30 days of starting his fake presidency?
The kiddie groomers at CNN tacitly admitted https://www.cnn.com/2025/03/28/business/consumer-economy-recession/index.html the Inflation Reduction Act so much fail & CNN is the most truthful source of “news” ever, right? Yes, I’m being facetious.
The Atlantic goes full retard on a regular basis, so this won’t surprise you. https://www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archive/2025/02/trump-living-costs-crisis/681669/ They all would’ve voted for the Dementia Patient a second time if he hadn’t been thrown under the bus, despite all his economic missteps. Inflation was likely what sunk Biden & those clowns didn’t care, but they’re worried Trump is going exacerbate the problem & by golly, it’s a problem now – in February.
The New York Times https://www.nytimes.com/2025/02/25/business/economy/inflation-fed-trump.html was worried about Donald J. Trump making the mess that Biden created even worse. There’s another tacit admission that the mis-named Inflation Reduction Act did not work.
I would wager this is the first time millions of rank-and-file Dumocrat voters watched the stock market (some “news” outlets had it on a ticker, when they thought it could hurt Trump) for a week or so like a hawk & were paying diligent attention to the CPI; which they probably did none of while Dementia Joe was playing the role of Muppet.
Bloomberg
https://www.bloomberg.com/opinion/articles/2025-02-10/trump-fanned-inflation-fears-that-now-haunt-his-presidency says “Inflation concerns may very well have delivered Donald Trump to the presidency.” I think it was less a concern & more a reality. But they go on to say that “inflation concerns” could sink Trump’s presidency. Is perception really reality?
If Bloomberg is right, all you have to do if your party is not in the WH – expect runaway inflation & viola, you can sink a presidency. If it were only that easy.
Here’s an interesting quote: “[T]here’s broad agreement among economists that inflation expectations are an important determinant of the path of realized inflation. The anticipation of higher costs can influence business’ pricing decisions; induce consumers to buy now to front-run future price hikes; and prompt workers to demand wage increases. Expectations feature prominently in inflation forecast models, and are consulted by monetary policy practitioners at the world’s most powerful central banks. In mid-2022, Powell even cited rising consumer inflation expectations as justification for delivering the biggest single policy-rate increase since 1994. But as much as economists agree on the importance of expectations, they disagree on the best way to measure them. Survey microdata reveals massive gaps in the public’s understanding of what inflation even is.”
So, if the plebs don’t understand it, why are they even polled about it? That’s why I ignore most polls, because the wording is very important & using a push poll as “news” is silly, unethical & stupid.
“Evidence also suggests that Americans’ answers to inflation-expectation surveys tend to overweight variables such as gasoline and food prices, in part because they buy them frequently enough to notice the difference.’
Most Americans are less concerned about the price of bathroom tile & more concerned about fuel & food prices.
I wonder if Minnie Mouse aka Senator Cory Booker https://www.booker.senate.gov/news/press/new-video-sht-that-aint-true-president-trumps-vow-to-lower-prices-on-day-one took Joe Biden at his word when he said he would shut down the COVID-19 virus? (more people died from COVID-19 under Biden in a comparable time frame https://rumble.com/vuvkvk-candidate-joe-biden-wants-fake-president-joe-biden-to-resign-covid-19.html) Trump should probably avoid saying things like “day one”, but it wouldn’t matter anyways, now Booker is seriously concerned about inflation. Maybe bring spending back to FY2019 levels for a start?
The Huffington Post engaged in the same lunacy, (again, did Biden shut down the virus? No, he did not & you didn’t care) https://www.huffpost.com/entry/trump-grocery-prices-100-days_n_680a7fc4e4b0b1be3356225a as did the DNC, https://democrats.org/news/fact-check-prices-are-hitting-record-highs-despite-trumps-lies/ Newsweek https://www.newsweek.com/high-prices-troubling-donald-trump-stephen-moore-2038820 the Boston Globe https://www.bostonglobe.com/2025/03/11/opinion/egg-prices-trump/ & PBS https://www.pbs.org/newshour/economy/before-trump-ramped-up-tariff-threats-inflation-was-cooling PBS says “inflation was cooling,” & you could stick your hand on a red-hot skillet that had been “cooling” for a few seconds & still burn yourself. Morons!
ABC “News” https://abcnews.go.com/Business/trumps-tariffs-risk-inflation-recession-china-trade-war/story?id=120686518 was apparently worried about inflation, as if it didn’t exist prior to Trump’s tariff plans.
Donald Trump’s first full Fiscal Year begins in October, if you’re going to assess inflation, wait for the months following that. Biden’s struggles w/ inflation began about a year into his presidency.
In conclusion, all these essays & articles demonstrate a tacit admission by Regressives that the Inflation Reduction Act did nothing to reduce inflation & they’re probably more worried about inflation now than they were under Biden because they’re in the tank for Biden.
They were willing to wheel this walking corpse across the finish line for another 4 years & you’d think we had the greatest economy ever. Biden only created a lot of jobs because the COVID-19 lockdowns dug us a huge hole & they were using that as their baseline. It’s disingenuous.
Now, they will become obsessed w/ inflation (remember when inflation under Biden was “transitory”? That was a lie) on a daily basis in an effort to hurt Donald Trump & J.D. Vance. Inflation sunk your candidate & you didn’t care, deal w/ it.
If we can get some actual cuts in federal spending, not just cuts in growth, that would go a long way to helping the middle class, but that’s not what the Demoncrats want. They want an expanded, permanent underclass.
[*] Reading through some of this B.S. (and I understand that any legislation usually has something on the periphery) I figured I might see something that would actually help reduce inflation that was (purposely) grinding down the middle class as it slogged through Kid Sniffer Joe Biden’s train wreck of an economy.
I guess a host of rebates for prescription drugs & a slew of grants for low-carbon forms of energy (roughly $50 Billion) are going to magically lower the price of eggs, milk & broccoli. “Low-carbon” appears 7 times in the legislation, “reduce greenhouse gas emissions” appears 6 times, “greenhouse gas emissions” appears 73 (!) times, billions of dollars were spent on programs to “sequester carbon”, make federal buildings (which Washington has many of that are unattended & unnecessary) “green”, gobs of rebates for “efficient” appliances in the home (homes that are “low income” or “moderate income” can receive larger rebates in the HOMES program), Fenceline Air Monitoring and Screening Air Monitoring (courtesy of the EPA), extending Biodiesel tax credits, reinstatement of the environmental Superfund, Environmental and Climate Justice Block Grants, subsidies for nuclear power, tax credits for wind & solar projects in low-income communities, subsidies to reduce an irrelevant greenhouse gas, otherwise known as methane & a host of other items.
Sounds to me like this was just a scaled-down, mini-version of the envirokook bed wetter’s fantasy, the Green New Deal. Not sure how that’s going to reduce your grocery bill or fuel bill, but hey, at least they “did something.” We got sold a bill of goods, thankfully ZERO Republicans voted for this garbage.
I should also mention when the CBO scored this pile of dung https://www.cbo.gov/system/files/2022-09/PL117-169_9-7-22.pdf most of the spending related to it was in FY2025 (which we are in right now) & pushed beyond that, so make sure to mention that to any Dumocrat saying “it wore off” or “we didn’t spend enough” in later years. Not that they would read the damn thing anyways. They also wouldn’t understand it, they’d just “google”, I mean “research” something real quick & spout off a ridiculous talking point.
[**] For the dirty details on the absolute explosion in Medicaid spending since 1970 (and subsequent explosions under Clinton, Obama, COVID-19 etc. See this https://rumble.com/v6qiakw-lyin-brian-tyler-cohen-is-really-worried-about-medicaid-spending.html Medicaid spending could be frozen for the next decade & it would still be much higher than it was when even George W. Bush was in office. Democrats just want to bake the COVID-19 spike into baseline budgeting & if you don’t do that, they’ll call it “a cut” when everyone knows that’s a lie.
