Tony Matthews: Violin Sonata No. 1

A love song in five movements, the last three, of which, are played without a break. It is based around a melody I wrote for Daphne, the women who I would eventually marry; on the first night I met her. (I can be so romantic...).

A version for alto flute was premièred by Sharon Moloney and Cat Herriot in 2013, this is the 2014 première of the original version for Violin and Piano.
