Monotheism in Christianity and Islam

Christianity and Islam both assert monotheism, but do they have the same understanding of God? Do Christians and Muslims believe in the same God? Muslims believe in a unitary God and deny the doctrine of the Trinity. Christians believe there is One True God and within that One True God there are three persons that share the nature of the One true God.
