A true story from today and yes this was my story....

I went into the village today, I thought i'd try my luck in a pub I have never been in before "The Railway Tavern". I ordered a Tonic and Lime as confusing as that may have sounded to the barman. I sat next to a guy, found out he was 68 years old and as I was trying to summon up a conversation with him I notice three big widescreen TV's on the wall behind him. "It's impossible to find a pub with no TV's these days isn't it" I said......he replied..."they don't bother me, there's even a little tv on a table top over there. The TV's draw in the punters"......to which I replied "well the TV's destroy the art of conversation, they distract the minds of the people so we do not communicate with each other. Otherwise, how will you find out what's really going on in the world? The TV is the brainwashing device, although you may not realise that. It is healthy to communicate so you know what is really going on in the world". ...

....the man replied ........

wait for it.............

"if we don't watch TV how can we have an opinion?"

He left the pub, I drank half my tonic and lime and departed as I felt like I was in the green room for Shaun of the Dead.
