Update: Arlington Fire & EMS reports that the vehicle involved was gas-powered and the fire was caused by a malfunctioning engine. There was no explosion, and no packages were involved.

A Sprinter van exploded in downtown Arlington, Virginia, on Sunday afternoon.

ABC 7 News has reported that a black Amazon delivery vehicle exploded on the 2200 block of S Clark Street.

The explosion sent a thick black smoke into the air that could be seen for several miles.

The Arlington Fire Department is currently investigating what led to the explosion.

An Amazon delivery vehicle was fully engulfed in flames on Sunday in Arlington, Virginia.

Units with the Arlington Fire and EMS Department responded to the fire at the 2200 block of S Clark Street.

The driver of the delivery van was not injured.
