1 COR 2:14, But the natural man (the psychikos soo key kos = natural minded) does not receive the things of the Spirit of GOD, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
MAT 5:13-16, “You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men. You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.”
MAT 6:9-13, (also in LUK 11) MAT “Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be THY name, THY kingdom come, THY will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen.”
Many times up to this point in this Gospel record, we have heard Yeshua refer to the hour or that day, or the time as approaching, but always as a future event. Here HE is very clearly stating that the HOUR, that event that time was NOW here.
The Cross was intended by the KOD to be the final defeat of GOD’s plan, but the Cross will actually bring ultimate Glory to the plan of GOD. Not the Cross, but the Work… that Yeshua accomplishes on the Cross. Yeshua will glorify GOD the Father by doing HIS Will, by HIS obedience even unto the Cross where HIS It is on the Cross that HIS Kingship is proclaimed and confirmed.
JOH 16:31, “I have told you these things, so that in ME you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
Yeshua’s arrest, trails and crucifixion are literally hours away. Yeshua says HE has finished with the work HE was given.That might seem surprising, given that at the time when HE said this HE had not died on the Cross, let alone be Resurrected.However, these moments between the Last Supper and HIS arrest are the last moments where HE takes an active role in HIS mission.
The world as a whole had failed to recognize Yeshua as the revealer of the Father, failed to recognize HIM as the Son of GOD, as GOD in the flesh. Thus they failed to recognize GOD.In recognizing that Yeshua’s teaching came from GOD, HIS Disciples (this who followed HIM) recognized at the same time that HE came from GOD, as the Father’s “SENT ONE.”
2 COR 3:2-3, You are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read by all men; clearly you are an epistle of Christ, ministered by us, written not with ink but by the Spirit of the living GOD, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of flesh, that is, of the heart.
