The Battle of Karbala
The Battle of Karbala took place on the 10th of Muharram, 61 AH (October 680 AD), in Karbala, Iraq. It was a tragic and defining moment in Islamic history where Imam Hussain ibn Ali, the beloved grandson of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, stood against the tyranny of Yazid ibn Muawiyah. Imam Hussain and his loyal companions were martyred while standing for truth, justice, and Islam. The event is commemorated especially by Muslims during Ashura, highlighting the values of sacrifice, resistance against oppression, and unwavering faith in Allah.
