There are plenty of combined in car USB port battery monitor combos, but this one is a bit different. Most of them will have one or more ports and a simple LED voltage display but this one has a format I have not seen previously.

The device is listed on Amazon under the Thlevel brand but the box I received listed the product as the Kewig Z8-A. In the box I received the item itself together with a small, well printed but simple user guide. The adapter is all plastic but seems well made enough.

Looking at the front of the 3.5 cm diameter adapter unit we see two 18W/3A QC3.0 USB-A charging ports (combined output 36w/3A) surrounded by a circle of LEDs showing the current vehicle battery status bewteen 11 and 14.6 volts. Below the two ports is a combined power and status button.

Operation is simple enough. Connect the adapter to the car cigaraette lighter port and the adapter immediately starts working, showing the current battery status and with the two power ports active. Short press the switch and the voltmeter display will be off but with the USB ports working (with a single status LED) , long press the switch and the voltmeter and the USB ports will be off, short press again to turn everything back on.

It all seems to work well, turning the ignition on shows the resting state of the battery, turning the engine on and the level increases the display with the two end green LEDs confirming th battery is charging. Both ports work well and output at a decent power level. No problems wioth it's operation for me.

I intend to use it to power the 10" tablet I use for car navigation and this seems to work well, keeping the tablet fully charged. Priced on Amazon at just £11.69 after discounts this is a pretty decent buy.
