9th Muharram Dastan-e-Karbala The Journey of Truth

Asslamoalaikum, The tragedy of Karbala is one of the most heart-wrenching and powerful chapters in Islamic history. Occurring in the sacred month of Muharram, this historic event marks the ultimate sacrifice of Imam Hussain (RA), the beloved grandson of Prophet Muhammad (SAW), who stood fearlessly against tyranny and injustice. On the plains of Karbala, in 61 AH (680 CE), Imam Hussain, along with his family and a small group of loyal companions, faced the brutal army of Yazid. Denied water, surrounded by enemies, and offered no escape, they chose martyrdom over surrender, preserving the values of truth, justice, and faith.

This video takes you through the sorrowful yet inspiring journey of Karbala—each day of Muharram carrying profound pain and unmatched bravery. From the departure of Imam Hussain from Madinah to the heart-shaking events of Ashura, we honor the legacy of those who gave their lives for Islam.

So sisters brothers friends and elders today we will be the described events of 9th Muharram in this video.

The 9th of Muharram, known as **Tasu’a**, was one of the most emotionally charged and spiritually intense days in the tragic journey of Karbala. It was the day before the ultimate sacrifice, and the signs of the impending battle had become undeniable. The sun rose over the desert with a heavy silence, broken only by the cries of thirsty children and the whispers of anxious prayers. For Imam Hussain (A.S), his family, and his loyal companions, the 9th of Muharram was a day of preparation — not for political victory, but for martyrdom in the path of truth. Despite being surrounded by over **30,000** enemy soldiers, the camp of Hussain (A.S), which consisted of only **72 brave souls**, remained firm in faith and ready to give everything for the protection of Islam and the dignity of the Prophet’s family.

On this day, **Umar ibn Sa’ad**, the commander of Yazid’s army, received final instructions from **Ubaidullah ibn Ziyad**, ordering him to prepare for battle and to demand that Hussain (A.S) give bay’ah (allegiance) to Yazid or face death. Umar ibn Sa’ad, knowing the situation had now reached its end, ordered his forces to advance toward Hussain’s camp in the afternoon. The ground trembled with the marching of thousands of troops, their weapons drawn and armor shining under the desert sun. As the enemy forces approached, Imam Hussain (A.S) sent **Abbas ibn Ali (A.S)** and **Habib ibn Muzahir** to ask for a delay — one more night — so they could spend it in worship, prayer, and supplication to Allah.

This request was granted, and the attack was delayed until the next day. That single night, the **Night of Ashura**, became a night of worship and devotion, echoing with the sounds of Qur’an recitation, heartfelt du'as, and the sincere crying of pure souls preparing to meet their Lord. Imam Hussain (A.S) gathered his companions and told them, with full honesty, that the enemy wanted only his blood and that they were free to leave under the cover of darkness. In a beautiful display of loyalty and love, not a single companion abandoned him. They rose one by one and declared their readiness to die with him, to protect the honor of the Prophet’s family, and to defend the truth. These companions, though small in number, stood with the strength of mountains, unwavering in their decision.

Inside the tents, the atmosphere was equally solemn. **Lady Zainab (S.A)**, the sister of Hussain (A.S), spent the night in worship and preparing the women and children for the great trial ahead. Mothers comforted their sons, knowing they would become martyrs by the next day. The thirst had worsened, especially for the children, as the effects of three days without water took their toll. Yet no complaints were heard — only prayers, tears, and the light of spiritual strength shining in their eyes.

Imam Hussain (A.S) also spent part of the night visiting each tent, comforting his family, and praying for them. He especially consoled his son, **Ali Zain-ul-Abideen (A.S)**, who was ill and bedridden but spiritually alert. He entrusted him with the responsibility of Imamat after him, knowing that he would survive to carry the message of Karbala to the world.

Meanwhile, in Yazid’s camp, restlessness and fear had begun to creep in. Some soldiers had heard the sounds of worship from Hussain’s camp and were moved. A few even began to question their place in the army of oppression, while others remained blinded by greed and obedience to corrupt leadership.

The 9th of Muharram was not a day of battle but of spiritual climax. It was the calm before the storm — a sacred pause in which every soul in Hussain’s camp purified themselves and prepared for the ultimate sacrifice. As the night descended and stars filled the sky, the land of Karbala bore witness to a level of devotion and submission to Allah that had not been seen since the days of the Prophet (PBUH). The heroes of Karbala had made peace with death, and their hearts were already with their Lord. The day of Ashura was now only hours away — and with it, the immortal stand that would shake the foundations of tyranny forever.

As we remember the heartbreaking events of Karbala, let us not only remember the sacrifices of Imam Hussain (RA) and his companions, but also strive to embody their values ??of truth, justice, and unwavering faith. Their legacy is a timeless reminder that standing up against oppression is the duty of every believer. May their courage inspire us to live with dignity and righteousness. Amen.

Allah Hafiz
