7th Muharram Dastan-e-Karbala The Journey of Truth

Asslamoalaikum, The tragedy of Karbala is one of the most heart-wrenching and powerful chapters in Islamic history. Occurring in the sacred month of Muharram, this historic event marks the ultimate sacrifice of Imam Hussain (RA), the beloved grandson of Prophet Muhammad (SAW), who stood fearlessly against tyranny and injustice. On the plains of Karbala, in 61 AH (680 CE), Imam Hussain, along with his family and a small group of loyal companions, faced the brutal army of Yazid. Denied water, surrounded by enemies, and offered no escape, they chose martyrdom over surrender, preserving the values of truth, justice, and faith.

This video takes you through the sorrowful yet inspiring journey of Karbala—each day of Muharram carrying profound pain and unmatched bravery. From the departure of Imam Hussain from Madinah to the heart-shaking events of Ashura, we honor the legacy of those who gave their lives for Islam.

So sisters brothers friends and elders today we will be the described events of 7th Muharram in this video.

The 7th of Muharram marked a turning point in the tragic journey of Karbala, as the cruelty of Yazid’s forces escalated to an unbearable level. On this day, **an official order was issued by Ubaidullah ibn Ziyad**, the governor of Kufa, to **completely cut off access to the Euphrates River** for Imam Hussain (A.S), his family, and his companions. This command was handed to **Amr ibn Hajjaj**, a military officer loyal to Yazid, who stationed his troops along the riverbanks to strictly guard the water and prevent a single drop from reaching Hussain's camp. The scorching heat of the desert, the rising dust, and the cries of thirsty children painted a heartbreaking scene. This blockade was a calculated move of psychological warfare — to force Imam Hussain (A.S) into surrender by attacking the most basic human need: water.

As the day unfolded, **the water situation grew increasingly desperate**. The last remaining supplies had either run out or were too little to quench even a child’s thirst. The children, including young ones like Ali Asghar, the six-month-old son of Imam Hussain (A.S), began to cry uncontrollably due to extreme thirst. Mothers tried to soothe them with empty flasks and soft words, but their hearts were breaking. Despite this suffering, the camp of Hussain (A.S) showed no signs of panic or surrender. Instead, they turned toward Allah in supplication and sabr (patience), knowing that they were enduring for a cause far greater than themselves — the preservation of truth, justice, and the true teachings of Islam.

Imam Hussain (A.S), though deeply pained by the condition of his family, remained steadfast and composed. He made efforts to negotiate with the enemy to allow at least the children access to water, but his requests were met with heartless refusal. One of the most painful aspects of this day was not just the thirst, but the **deliberate inhumanity** of those who claimed to be Muslims yet denied the family of the Prophet (PBUH) their basic rights. The Prophet had said:
**“Hussain is from me, and I am from Hussain. May Allah love those who love Hussain.”**
— *(Sunan al-Tirmidhi, Hadith 3775)*
And yet, here stood thousands of men, raised in Muslim lands, turning their backs on the teachings of their Prophet and acting in opposition to his love.

On this same day, Imam Hussain (A.S) began to prepare his companions for the coming battle. He held meetings, gave spiritual counsel, and encouraged them to remain firm in their loyalty. He told them that martyrdom in the path of Allah was the highest honor, and that this sacrifice would illuminate the truth for generations to come. **Abu al-Fadl al-Abbas (A.S)**, the half-brother of Hussain and his standard-bearer, took it upon himself to try and bring back water to the camp. With immense courage and loyalty, he made several attempts to break through the enemy lines and reach the river, and although he succeeded in some of those attempts, the amount he could bring was never enough for all.

Meanwhile, within Yazid’s camp, some hearts began to tremble. Soldiers who had grown up hearing stories of the Prophet and his family were now beginning to question their role. But fear, greed, and loyalty to worldly power kept most of them chained. Imam Hussain (A.S) continued to deliver powerful sermons, reminding them of their accountability before Allah. He invited them once more to join him in truth and leave the path of oppression. Yet, the lust for power and the fear of Ibn Ziyad’s wrath silenced their conscience.

The 7th of Muharram was not just a day of thirst — it was a day of **divine trial**. The test of loyalty, humanity, and faith had reached a severe level. On one side stood a small group of righteous believers led by the grandson of the Prophet, who were suffering but refusing to bow. On the other, stood an army of thousands, drunk with power and determined to crush a truth they could not understand. As the sun set on this brutal day, the night brought only more worry. But in the camp of Imam Hussain (A.S), the resolve remained unshaken. The hearts were dry, the lips were parched, but the souls were radiant with the light of faith and sacrifice.

As we remember the heartbreaking events of Karbala, let us not only remember the sacrifices of Imam Hussain (RA) and his companions, but also strive to embody their values ??of truth, justice, and unwavering faith. Their legacy is a timeless reminder that standing up against oppression is the duty of every believer. May their courage inspire us to live with dignity and righteousness. Amen.
