Anthony Casso, nicknamed “Gaspipe”, was the ruthless underboss of the Lucchese crime family during the 1980s and early ’90s.

Known for ordering dozens of murders—including hits carried out by corrupt NYPD officers—Casso was feared even within the mafia.

After his arrest, he shocked the underworld by turning informant, revealing extensive mob and police corruption.

Despite cooperating, the FBI cut ties with him due to his erratic behavior—and Casso died in prison in 2020.
