Day 182: From Mourning to Joy — Psalms 126–131 | Bible In A Year (CSB)

Psalms 126–131 continue the Songs of Ascent with a powerful blend of hope, humility, trust, and worship. These psalms reflect on God’s past faithfulness, express dependence on His provision, and call us to a quiet confidence in Him. Whether in seasons of weeping or rest, we are invited to lift our eyes to the Lord and walk in simple, steady faith.

Questions:
1. Psalm 126 speaks of sowing in tears and reaping with joy. How have you seen God bring joy out of sorrow in your own life, and what does this teach us about His timing and purpose in suffering?

2. Psalm 127 reminds us that unless the Lord builds the house, our labor is in vain. How can we discern the difference between working with God and striving in our own strength?

3. Psalm 131 describes a soul that is calm and quiet like a weaned child with its mother. What does it look like to cultivate this kind of contentment and trust in our relationship with God?
