Grandma’s Kitchen, Grandpa’s Lake — A Lovely Little Love Story

In a quiet mountain village, where the mist kisses the trees and birds sing in the morning light, lived an old couple — Grandpa and Grandma.

Every morning, Grandma would wake up early. She would knead the dough, warm the clay stove, and fill the air with the delicious smell of ghee. Her parathas and spicy omelettes were loved by all the grandchildren, but she always made something extra special for Grandpa — fish curry.

Grandpa had his own special job too. He would go to the nearby lake with his old bamboo fishing rod and sit patiently for hours, eyes fixed on the water. Sometimes he caught nothing, and he would say with a playful sigh:

“Maybe Grandma is upset today, that’s why luck isn’t on my side.”

But as soon as noon arrived, and Grandma came walking toward him with hot fish curry and rice wrapped in cloth, Grandpa’s face would light up. He’d smile and say:

“It’s your touch that brings the fish to me.”

Grandma would chuckle and reply:

“Oh please, you’re old now, but you still flirt like a newlywed groom!”

One rainy day, when the path near the lake turned muddy, Grandpa slipped and fell. Grandma came rushing down with her dupatta flying, scolding him through her tears:

“What did I tell you? Don’t go fishing in the rain!”

And as she helped him up, both of them laughed through the drizzle — their love still young, their hearts still warm, like tea on a rainy day.
