Afternoon Storm - June 19, 2025

Boulder Valley, Montana.
Thursday afternoon I noticed it getting dark off to the west. Thunderstorms were expected, so I grabbed the camera and tripod and got it set up just as a hailstorm was moving in. If you pause the video during the first part with the hailstorm you can see the little ice chunks coming down, then the fat raindrops. I changed the vantage of the camera a few times during the storm, catching some lightning a couple times. I did isolate one lightning bolt sequence to add back to the video.
A rainbow, then a double rainbow make a brief appearance. The west side of the storm was momentarily thinning out, while it was still thundering off to the southeast. Eventually switched to a timelapse format to close out the video.
It took a little longer than usual to get this all processed. There was so much footage to sift through and trim down, and figure out the best way to present. So it is a bit lengthier than my typical videos. I hope you watch it in full, regardless.

Footage was captured with a GoPro Hero9. Video was processed through VideoProc Vlogger freeware, with the lightning sequence processed through Windows Moviemaker software first.

Audio is from the video recordings, except for the timelapse sequence at the end.
