PAGPAG - Eating Trash to Survive 🇵🇭

In the slums of Manila, the poorest families survive on pagpag — leftover fast food scavenged from garbage bins, cleaned, recooked, and sold for pennies. In this video, I went deep into the world of recycled food, where hunger leaves no choice and survival means eating what others throw away.

What is pagpag? Why do people eat food from the trash? How did this underground economy evolve in the Philippines? This adventure made me realize the harsh reality behind food insecurity, poverty, and resilience in one of the world’s most vulnerable communities.
